Rushford Special Town Board Minutes

Wednesday, December 27 2011

The Town of Rushford Board meeting was called to order at 11:00 am by Chairman Thomas Egan.  Roll call was taken with Tom Egan, Jerry Schoonover, Patrick Kafer, and Peggy Hendricks present.  Kathryn Lewis was excused.

APPROVE & PAY YEAR END INVOICES:

Freund Excavating              $1387.14               road patching

Wi Correction System        $2000.24               brushing

Winnebago Co Treas          $ 350.86                road maintenance

Jesse Domke                        $ 50.00                  tree trimming

Motion by Schoonover, 2nd by Kafer to approve and pay the mentioned invoices.

Mr Egan asked how many hours we were invoiced from the Correctional Department.  We were billed for 622 hours @ .42/hr.  The rest was administrative costs and equipment.

Motion carried.

ACTION ON WHAT TO DO WITH MONEY IN THE BUDGET BEFORE YEAR END:

Thomas Egan stated that he wished to pay off the town hall, but Peggy Hendricks explained that since this was taken as an adjustment on our tax levy, it has to show in the books that the hall was paid in 2012, not 2011.  She thought it would be wise to pay this towards roads so we do not jeopardize our transportation aid that we receive.

Discussion was to give some to Ripon Truck, for we still need grinding done and Edgewater needs brushing done.  Tom Egan stated that we are on a year to year contract and we might want to reconsider this.  Freunds have more culverts to go in and there will be extensive road work done in 2012.

Motion by Kafer, 2nd by Schoonover to pay the following.

Radtke for                             $35,000

Freunds for                           $10,000

Winnebago Co for               $35,000

For a total of $80,000.  Motion carried.

BURNING DOWN HOME ON PARCEL #022 0411, 9133 BELL SCHOOL ROAD

Tom Egan explained that Zillges wanted to turn the house on 9133 Bell School Road over to the Fire Department for practice on controlled burns.  Motion by Kafer, 2nd by Schoonover to take the house off the tax bill and have the fire department use it for practice.  Motion carried.

Motion by Schoonover, 2nd by Kafer to adjourn at 11:25.  Motion carried.

Respectfully submitted by Peggy Hendricks, Clerk
